POSTCARDS FROM KUALA LUMPUR

"Eat well, travel often"

My recent travel to KL with my mom and Sarah, my big sis to visit the lil' sis, Laura. Our three days trip will be all on eating and shopping. Our flight got delayed in Penang for an hour so we went for coffee at Kaffa Espresso Bar @Penang International Airport. The price is more expensive in the airport compared to the one in town, but I still love their salted caramel. Yums! We arrived in KL in the late afternoon. So we went for a really late lunch at Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. @The Curve, the mall opposite IKEA. We shared all three shrimp dishes: Bubba's Far Out Dip & Shrimp Mayan Salsa, Shrimper's Net Catch and Shrimper's Heaven. Yummehhh. Shrimp overload.

It was already evening by then, so we wanted to go for Boat Noodles @Empire Damansara for dinner. But the waiting line was so long. So we gave up and dropped by a bakery called Tours Le Jours @Empire Damansara. Oh! I just heard that Rain Bi was at the Bukit Bintang branch!! Anyway, in Empire Damansara I was attracted to their hanging pink umbrellas. Did not take photos of the pink umbrellas as it was too dark.

We photo bombed my mom's photo. She didn't even notice. Hahaha

We postponed our visit for Boat Noodle for tomorrow's brunch instead, hoping it would not be packed then and also so I could take photos of the beautiful pink umbrellas! We adjourned to myBurgerLab @Taman Sea to eat my ultimate favourite Beautiful Mess burger. Brought my mom and sisters to try it! And they loved it, of course. That was our Day 1 of eating in KL. Let's continue with Day 2. Had breakfast at Village Park Restaurant @Damansara Utama for their famous Nasi Lemak. Its really good, you should try. Continued our eating spree at the same Boat Noodles @Empire Damansara. We managed to beat the lunch crowd. As for my opinion on the noodles, I tried their dry noodles and also with soup. For a person like me who loves sour like vinegar, the noodle soup was too vinegary for my liking and also the dry sauce was too salty. I just like the concept of the store where they will serve very small portions in a few bowls so you can stack them up. The more you eat, the more bowls you can stack up.

And finally, I took photos of the pretty pink umbrellas! Went for bagels next door called The Bagel Company still @Empire Damansara.

Next, we went for Uncle Jang @Sunway Giza. I have been wanting to try this, and finally I have. I do like the Dak Galbi. It is a Korean dish with chicken cubes marinated in chili paste and fried together with vegetables and rice cakes. You can choose to add in either ramen noodles or rice. Their portion is big. Enough to share among 2-3 people. Went to try O Banh Mi @1 Utama. A Vietnamese restaurant with freakin' good Vietnamese coffee and pork belly sandwiches. Wanted to have dinner at Sri Nirvana Maju @Bangsar for banana leaf rice but it was closed!! So our other alternative was Devi's Corner also @Bangsar. Their crab curry is really good. I can say that Sri Nirvana Maju and Devi's Corner are equally good. Sarah paid for our desserts at Alexis Bistro @Bangsar. Their desserts are good! That ended our Day 2 eating in KL.

On our last day, we shopped at Berjaya Times Square and next door at Ayam Penyet Ria @Sungei Wang Plaza. I really love their sambal (chilli). Warning: Its really spicy. So you see, for the past three days I have been around the clock! Time to go on a diet.

Here's my shopping damage (which I paired them up with my other clothing that is suitable) :
I bought a red & white strappy romper paired with my denim shirt worn on top, brown belt worn to the high-waist, my favourite black wedges, vintage Casio watch & blue medium Le Pliage Longchamp Tote Bag.

I bought a black flowy skirt that can be matched with anything. I paired it up with my Forever21 denim cropped top, vintage Casio watch & a clear clutch. A cute outfit.

I got a beige off-shoulder top paired with a frayed denim shorts from Forever21, vintage Casio watch, & sling handbag from Padini.

I got a maxi summer dress that can be paired with a pair of simple beach sandals.
