PEOPLE CALL IT CONVOCATION, I CALL IT HARRY POTTER CONVENTION

The Few PROUD Moments of My Life

KDU Academic Convocation 2009.
The day I take a step further into adulthood.
The day I graduate from Diploma.
The day I officially move on to Degree.

In my graduation robes. Wasted got no hat. Only Degree can get.

Yesterday, had rehearsal at KDU foyer. Train where and when to walk, sit, stand, and clap. Instructions for the big day tomorrow were given. Today, went to Traders Hotel (location of our convocation) at 11.30am to collect my graduation robes and hoods. Hood colour was red and black. Different colour represents different department. Mine was business department. Anyway, collected then went to respective changing room. Boy, it was hard to wear the robes. With the pinning here and there. Had to ask for help!!

Took lots of pictures with almost everyone I know. Which department, I didn't care. They're my friends, so, so what? My friends and I, same department, decided to take class photos. You know, like those schooling days. Lecturers in front, students behind.

Tada!!!!

Graduates of Class 2009!!!

Doesn't all this graduations robes look like dress codes for Harry Potter??
That's why I call in a Harry Potter Convention...
Okay, so parents have arrived and shown to their seats. We, graduates, lined-up in two straight lines outside the ballroom and waited. Took more pictures again. Hehe. I kept my handphone and camera in my robes ^^ Finally went in, and ceremony started with the arrival of lecturers and those Important VIPS. Then everyone present sang the National and State Anthem. Next, was speech, speech, speech. Then its was the handing out of certificates. When reached my department, I was called out first since its called in aphabetical order. Shook hands then received the scroll.
The handing out lasted with the H&T department. They shook hands with an ang moh professor!!! Damn, their picture sure nice. Thats cause the picture will look like they've studied overseas programme. Sigh, mine was just ths CEO of KDU. Anywhoo, the ceremony ended after giving out special awards. Then every graduate in the room were to take a group photo. Parents were to wait outside the ballroom to enjoy refreshments. Graduates joined their parents a while after that. Then, my parents went home first, were in a hurry. So Debra and Connie took me home. They came to the convocation for a visit.
